The World Wakeboard Association has announced the creation of the Malibu Boats WWA Pro Card, a program which includes qualifying and ranking criteria to establish a higher level of competition.
The all-new WWA Pro Card, renewed annually based on WWA World Rankings, legitimizes elite-level riders that are truly professional and encourages them - regardless of wakeboard (boat) or wake park (cable) - to set a higher standard of riding at professional contests.
The WWA Pro Card works based two major criteria: qualifying and rankings. At the beginning of each season, the WWA will hold Pro Card qualifier events (both boat and cable), open to all riders and not based on age.

Raph Derome has swept the Pro Men events of the 2013 Summer Jam, at the GoWake Cable Park, in Australia.
Jet Pilot King of the Kicker, Liquid Force Rail Jam and Double Up 2 Tower Challenge. Derome took it all at the 2013 Summer Jam, which attracted a large number of riders.
In the Rail Jam event, Raph was a clear cut winner but the next five places were tightly contested by Mitch Langfield, James Windsor, Daniel Grant, Aaron Gunn and Jamie Neville.

Mike Dowdy has been announced as the newest member of the Billabong wakeboarding team. The rider from Michigan dominated the Junior divisions for years.
Mike Dowdy, originally from Michigan, has found a second home in the warm waters of Florida. He is the current 2012 King of Wake Junior champion and prepares to enter the Pro divisions with the Billabong logo.
The young wakeboarder has been rehearsing new tricks including a new wake-to-wake double. Dowdy will join Billabong's talented wake team consisting of Raph Derome, Brian Grubb, Shawn Watson, Erik Ruck and Marc Rossiter.
