Piotr Myszka and Malgorzata Bialecka were crowned champions at the 2016 RS:X World Windsurfing Championships, in Eilat, Israel.

The Polish fleet dominated the entire competition and will be a force to be reckoned with at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, in Brazil, next summer. The medal races were tough but, in the end, only the white-and-red flag tasted gold.

After an early, strong start, Bialecka let her opponents gain ground. The Polish only confirmed her maiden RS:X World Championship title in the decisive race won by Charline Picon.

"It was a tough week of racing with very demanding conditions - light winds, and very shifty, tricky and gusty - so I am very happy with my smart sailing here, and it's good preparation before the Olympics. I feel much more confident," expressed Malgorzata Bialecka.

On the men's side, Myszka had already confirmed his RS:X world trophy, but Dorian Van Rijsselberge and Kiran Badloe had to fight for the silver and bronze medals.

"This last week here was really difficult and tricky. The wind was offshore all the time, so it was difficult to be all the time on the top, and defend this position," concluded Piotr Myszka.

Finally, last but not least, Mattia Camboni is your new 2016 RS:X world champion in the Under 21 division.
