Kevin Pritchard: winner of the 2016 NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic

Kevin Pritchard and Sarah-Quita Offringa claimed the 2016 NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic, at Hookipa Beach Park, in Maui, Hawaii.

The long wait proved to be worth it. In the final day of the event window, the 17-knot trade winds, and shoulder-to-head-high waves allowed the conclusion of the double eliminations.

On the women's side, Offringa and Sarah Hauser were ready for a super final. The tactical heat came down to wave selection. While the Aruban displayed her aggressive and powerful turns, Hauser tried to answer with a super late hit off-the-lip. But Offringa was once again stronger and more effective.

"I'm feeling super, super excited, but I'm feeling pretty tired after today's sailing, so I'm not fully celebrating yet. I didn't expect today's conditions and I was already happy with fifth place, but this is the bomb!" revealed Sarah-Quita, who won her first wave event ever in Maui.

The men's super final was nothing but exciting with Pritchard and Marcilio Browne putting out an intense display of wave windsurfing. There were plenty of back loops, tweaked airs, and goiter attempts.

When Browne had the final under control, Pritchard looked at the watch and, with one minute on the clock, launched a tweaked air straight into a one-handed aerial, and stole the show.

"That's probably the most stressful week of my life. It's just been unbelievable. My mind is blown, and I'm super happy. Humbled, honored, and grateful," concludes the winner of the 2016 NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic.

The 2016 PWA World Tour season is over.
