2010 Curacao Challenge: racing in the Caribbean

What a day, what a day. Just enough wind to get things started but the long distance race from Sea Aquarium Beach to Marriott Beach was a go.

The starting line was a half a mile upwind from the event site but the strong currents and little wind made it impossible for some competitors to get there. The competitors who did make it to the starting line made for an exciting race with a total distance of more than 6 miles of coastline.

What made the race even more exiting was that the scores count double and the finish was on the beach. This meant that competitors first had to get their gear on the beach and then run and touch the special Curacao Challenge promo car.

The open class had a surprising winner in Perry vd Wolde but Victor Wederfoort was a good second, scoring some valuable points following his strong performance on Day 1.

Afternoon races were cancelled due to wind conditions.

Brad Spencer, Annissa Flynn, and Daniel Tarapchak have taken out the 2018 World Flowboarding Championships, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
