The 2015 Techno 293 World Championships have crowned six new kings and queens, in Cagliari, Italy.

The shores of Sardinia welcomed 336 windsurfers from 26 different countries. Sailors completed 11 races held in the south of the Italian island. The event was previously scheduled to take place in Argentina, but an unexpected turn of events sent it to the Mediterranean Sea.

The final day of competition had winds blowing between eight and ten knots, which made it difficult for everyone to fight for gold, silver and bronze medals.

In the Plus Cup division, local star Michele Cittadini claimed the top spot, ahead of Yuta Mori and Yuta Iwasaki, from Japan. In the women's fleet, Lucie Pianazza took seven bullets and stormed the competition.

The always exciting Under 17 Boys division saw Yoav Cohen securing the highest podium position, with Tom Arnoux and Fernando Trueba taking second and third. Katy Spychakov won nine races and was a clear winner of the Under 15 Girls regatta.

Last but not least, the Under 15 titles. In the Boys' division, Leonidas Tsortanidis finished 10 points ahead of Yun Pouliquen and celebrated gold. Heloise Macquaert, in the Girls' competition, is the new world champion.
