Sola Beach: more sand than water

The first Kona Nordic Championships will be hosted by the experienced Sola Brettseiler Forening, located at Sola beach, which is rated as one of the finest sandy beaches in Norway.

The Championships will be held from Friday 13th August to sunday 15th August 2010.  It is well known throughout the country, especially for its windsurfing, and it has been the venue of several National and International Championships in the past.

The easiest way to get there is by air, to nearby Sola airport, or by ferry from Hirtshals, Denmark to Kristiansand or directly to Stavanger.

Coming from Sweden you may choose the ferry from Stroemstad to Sandefjord.

Conditions to be expected – winds 10-25 knots, water temperature 16-21 C, air temperature 17-27 C, waves normally 0-30 cm in August.

There may be separate prizes for U-13,U-15, Junior, Youth, Senior, Master, G-master, Women and Lightweight Men’s divisions.
