La Reunion Wave Classic: that hurts

After eight days of hardcore, intense and epic wave riding action on the shores of the island of La Reunion, the 12 riders of the wave contest by teams "La Reunion Wave Classic 2010" will come back home with less gear in their board bags.

Ten ripped sails, nine broken masts, three destroyed boards and three minor injuries. Not bad.

Surfing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will take place in the ocean, not in a wave pool. The waiting period runs from July 24 to August 9.
