Martin van Meurs: he will now be wearing a black suit

Martin van Meurs (NED-62) will join the Point-7 team, focusing the Black Power on the GPS-speedsurfing rankings.

The windsurfer from the Netherlands has a long history in speed sailing and was the first man to hit the 50 knots. van Meurs will also help with development of the P7 Test Team working on the new sails.

"I am looking forward to an exciting season with new roads to travel. When I read about Point-7’s new design process I got very interested in the 2011 series. After the P7 crew informed me of their plans, we had some nice discussions about the future and here I am - a new P7 team rider ready to help make the sails even better, but first and foremost to show the speedsurfing movement just how fast the new sails really are" Martin said.

van Meurs will be focusing on the outright GPS windsurfing record and he will be equally looking forward to sailing in moderate wind speeds and race with and against all the other GPS riders out there in the World.

"After all, racing on an 8.6 is just as much GPS speedsurfing, as blasting in wind gusts up to 60 knots. As soon as I have put the sails on the water I will be available for questions".

Whether you think of a kite as a wing or a sail, you want it to be lightweight, resistant, waterproof, but also stiff and flexible at the same time, so that they could respond to all flight requests.
