Florida: windsurfers' heaven

Florida is fired up. Several windsurfing events are kicking off the season in the US East Coast. The Alex Caviglia Bluewater Classic will be held, in Miami, from January 15-17.

Founded in 2004, the Caviglia Bluewater Foundation seeks to serve, represent and educate individuals and families who have been touched by a life-altering, often devastating traumatic brain injury (TBI) on their way to recovery and rehabilitation, using sailing as a way to bring hope, social independence and fun back into their lives.

Between 25th and 27th February, there's the classic Master/Seniors Island Style Classic, in Sarasota. Soon after, windsurfers warm up for the Banana River Windsurfing Regatta and the North American Kona Windsurfing Championships, from February 28th to March 6th.

On the 9th April, the Miami Wind and Surfer's Challenge 2011 will heat up the Floridian coast.

Thirty Formula GPS kiteboarders battled it out on the mountains of the Alto Sangro, Italy, for the second leg of 2018 IKA Snowkite World Cup.
