Patrick van Hoof: who says windsurfing needs hands?

Patrick van Hoof is celebrating a very special title. He has been crowned Belgian Racing champion, for the first time.

In the end, van Hoof was clearly stoked. "I can't deny that I'm happy with this title, especially when you know that the first guy behind me is 22 years younger than me. What an old man still can do!".

The results reveal a very tight battle also because there weren't many riders competing for the Formula and Slalom trophies. "This made it very difficult and always kept the tension high of who's winning".

The year 2011 has been very good for Patrick van Hoof. He's been crowned Belgian Speed Sailing champion and, for the 16th time, he is the fastest Belgian rider.

Rob Bain, Layne Beachley, and Dave Macaulay have taken out the Azores Airlines World Masters Championship in the Grand Masters, Women's Masters and Men's Masters divisions held in good three-foot surf at Praia de Santa Barbara.
