Philip Köster: he has springs under his windsurf board

Philip Köster, the 2011 PWA Wave world champion, has conquered the German Action Sports Award for "Windsurfer of the Year 2011". The man who scored a 4.08-second airtime jump of 18 meters up in the sky, in 2008, had an incredible windsurfing season by winning all pro stages: Pozo, Tenerife and Klitmøller.

Philip Köster has taken to Germany the first ever Wave World Championship and was even winner of GQ Magazine's "Men of the Year 2011".

"This year can't be topped." said Philip. "I won every PWA World Cup, got the trophy for the men of the year from the GQ magazine in Berlin, I won the Big Days where I nearly froze and now I got the title of Windsurfer of the year 2011. It was hard, hard work".

"I hope next year I will also will show good results and still keep the fun of windsurfing. Stay relaxed. I think that’s the best to handle contests and soul windsurfing! I thank all my sponsors and everybody who likes me can watch the movie 'Minds Wide Open' as I also participate in there", he adds.

The popular blue trophy of the Action Sports Award had Daniel Bruch, Fabian Weber, Tilo Eber and Ande Paskowski also nominated. Philip Köster was born on the 5th March 1994 and lives inLas Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain.
