Chris Pressler: domninating the winds of the island of Brac

Chris Pressler has claimed the 2012 Croatian Slalom Windsurfing Championships in the beautiful island of Brac. Thirty three windsurfers competed in very nice weather conditions. There were gusty light-to-medium winds blowing in the 8-to-20 knots range.

The Austrian rider took first place ahead of Ante Belenghi and Mladen "Grosny" Belamaric, who made it to second and third positions, respectively. In November, Presslerplans to particiapte in theSupercup Final in Jadrija.

"I was using the iSonic 117 wide in all races and it was a perfect choice. I used Pfaffi fins in 46,8 cm and 44,5 cm, which gave the board the right direction", explains Pressler.

"The final day was a hard one starting from the hotel to hit the spot on the opposite of the island, as the usual thermal winds did not show up. Instead of the Maestrale, we got rare southern winds, which allowed a cool final day", he adds.

Barc is the third largest island in the Adriatic Sea. It is also considered one of the best windsurfing spots in the region. Bol and Supetar are great places to ride with the wind in the island of Barc.

Waves are constantly breaking all over the world, and if you're on a surf trip or family vacations it's always good to know you can rent a surfboard anywhere there's a gem to be ridden.
