Daida Moreno: smiling and ready to dominate windsurfing

Daida Ruano Moreno has confirmed she battled a very strong form of cancer between 2011 and 2012.

The professional windsurfer from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria revealed that she went through surgery and chemotherapy for almost five months. "The reality is that I had something really strong and I could have died, but I feel great and 100% again", explains Daida.

The Spanish rider who loves Pozo Izquierdo is fully enjoying life and has posted a very emotional video online, here, in which she shows her big wide smile again.

Daida Moreno is one of the best female windsurfers in the world. She has been dominating the PWA Wave and Freestyle scene and collecting several world championship titles.

Daida was born on the 1st December 1977 with her twin sister Iballa. Her illness was kept a mystery for a long time, but she has fought it with her strength and positive attitude.

Waves are constantly breaking all over the world, and if you're on a surf trip or family vacations it's always good to know you can rent a surfboard anywhere there's a gem to be ridden.
