Fabio Caló: air Sardinia

Fabio Caló has claimed the first stage of the Italian Wave Championships, sailed in Cala Pischina, Northern Sardinia.

The North Sardinia Wave Contest opened the 2013 Italian Wave Championships with intense sailing and fierce clashes between well-known windsurfers.

The event took place in Cala Pischina, in the municipality of Aglientu. Sailors were greeted by excellent winds and waves. On the first day, the wind blew side-shore at 30 knots, with waves up to roughly three meters.

On the second day, the double elimination took place with lighter winds - slightly over 20 knots - and bigger waves. Fabio Caló showed the results of his intense winter training in South Africa by taking first place, his best result ever in the waves.

Italy showed its best conditions for wave windsurfing. High jumps, high-performance tricks, great maritime conditions and tight heats.
