Techno 293: getting ready for Sopot

The Techno 293 World Championships will be run at the Sopocki Klub Zeglarski, Sopot, in Poland, between 27th July and 3rd August.

Sopocki Klub Zeglarski is one of the biggest windsurfing clubs in Europe. The club was established in 1983 and counts 300 members, between amateurs and professional sailors.

Local sailors are the winners of European and World Junior, Youth, Senior and Master championships.

Przemyslaw Miarczynski, Poland's most famous windsurfer, has competed three times in the Olympic Games.

During these days Sopot will be home to top class Techno293 sailors from around the world.

More than 400 competitors from over 30 countries and six continents are expected at the Ergo Hestia Techno 293 World Championships.

Rob Bain, Layne Beachley, and Dave Macaulay have taken out the Azores Airlines World Masters Championship in the Grand Masters, Women's Masters and Men's Masters divisions held in good three-foot surf at Praia de Santa Barbara.
