Alberto Menegatti: plenty of stamina

Alberto Menegatti has conquered the 2011 One Hour Classic. The Italian windsurfer representing the Circolo Surf Torbole came ahead of experienced sailor Julien Quentel and Thomas Fauster.

All riders battled adverse weather conditions with bad weather and little wind, both from south and north, which has allowed to compete on Sunday morning only.

The long distance race is one of the most famous coast to coast windsurf challenges in the world and requires physical strength and stamina.

The 1991 record established by Alessandro Comerlati remains unbeaten, despite the efforts to do better in the last years. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. It is located in Northern Italy, about half-way between Brescia and Verona, and between Venice and Milan.
