Boujmaa Guilloul is the 2016 American Windsurfing Tour (AWT) champion.

The windsurfer from Morocco secured the season's title after watching Morgan Noireaux place fourth in an all-star heat - Kai Lenny, Camille Juban, Robby Swift, and Noireaux - at the NoveNove Maui Aloha Classic, in Hawaii.

Despite the light wind conditions, Lenny found a good set wave and opened his aerial handbook with a 9-point ride. Noireaux unleashed his vertical hack assault, but it was never enough. Camille Juban and Lenny got through to the man-on-man rounds, and Guilloul rejoiced.

"What an incredible event. The Aloha Classic 2016 has been one of the most memorable windsurfing contests. It was one of the best experiences ever, even though I didn't do better than what I've done before," expressed Guilloul.

Guilloul, who won the first and third stops in Essaouira and Punta San Carlos, was not able to advance through to the final rounds of the Maui event but was clearly the best sailor of the AWT season.

"I still enjoyed being in the water watching some of the best windsurfers in the world sending it. I feel very humbled. My respect for everyone out there. I am looking forward to pushing more." uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website. Learn more on our About section.
