Martini, the bearer of Circolo Surf Torbole, was able to sail 19 legs in one hour and 31 seconds, with an average speed of over 50 km/h.

It was an epic day on Lake Garda. The spot was blessed with a 25-knot south wind with peaks of up to 30-35 knots. For many, it was the most beautiful One Hour Classic ever.

Bruno Martini, the athlete of Circolo Surf Torbole, broke the record. It was a perfect end to the RRD One Hour Classic, one of the most famous and historical regattas in Torbole, held on the windsurfing mecca of Lake Garda, in Italy.

A series of combinations allowed Bruno Martini to perform the perfect regatta. After a great start, Martini left the pack behind, racing towards victory at an average speed of over 50 km/h.

"It was an epic day. The Lake gave us an unexpected strong hour. I, therefore, chose a smaller board - the 114 liters RRD board and an 8.6 Point 7 sail - a perfect combination of gear that made me able to leave the pack behind by a large margin," explained Martini.

"It was so exciting to fight against my friends and share the victory with the President of the Circolo Surf Torbole, Armando Bronzetti. I’ve not only won, but I’ve also broken the record, unbeaten for three years."

"Actually, I didn’t think about the record at the beginning of the race but, after half an hour, I saw that I was going strong and I kept pushing until the record arrived. I am delighted to have written a small part of the history of Circolo Surf Torbole, because it is the club in which I grew up and because I won the trophy entitled to my dear friend Alberto Menegatti: so the Trophy stays at home!" concluded Martini.

All the first five athletes of the ranking bested the previous record of Matteo Iachino, thus confirming the perfect conditions of the day.

Second place went for Malte Reuscher, 22 seconds behind Bruno Martini; third place for Matteo Iachino, and fourth place for the new Italian Slalom champion and athlete of Circolo Surf Torbole, Andrea Cucchi. The fifth place went for Andrea Ferin.

Nathan Doom was the first in the Youth division and eighth place overall. Among females, first place went for the Finnish, Marianne Rautelin, 36th overall. Anna Biagiolini finished first in the female youth category.

"I am thrilled to award the prize to our athlete Bruno Martini: I saw him growing here at the club, and therefore I consider him as a brother. Today he performs an extraordinary feat because I believe that his record will remain unbeaten for some time, considering today wind conditions. It is also a great joy to see the victory of our athlete on the 40th anniversary of Circolo Surf Torbole: a wonderful way to celebrate!" added Armando Bronzetti, the President of the Circolo Surf Torbole.

A new record has also been set for the RRD One Hour Foil if compared to the two previous days of races. Matteo Iachino made 17 legs in one hour and 45 seconds and had an exciting fight with the French windsurfer, Nicolas Goyard.
