Cancun: even better than the real thing

The 2011 Formula Experience World Championships will be sailed in Cancun, Mexico, between December 26th-31st.

The best windsurfers of the Formula Experience class will be traveling from Brazil, Venezuela, but also Russia, Germany, Argentina, the UK, Canada, Peru, Chile, France, USA, Spain and of course Mexico. There's a World Championship title at stake and Mexico is gearing up for a successful contest.

"This FE world championship will be one of the biggest worlds from this class. Many competitors from all over the world have already confirmed their entry. Around 60 people will be competing at the championship and that will increase the level of the championships a great deal", says Nicolas Schreier.

"I'm very excited about this competition and I'm training a lot to achieve the best possible result. I will go to Mexico 10 days before the championship to help a group of mexicans increase their level of performance".

Meanwhile, more and more participants are arriving to train in the Caribbean conditions and test the racing area.

Some of the names coming to the event so far are Nicolas Schereirer, three times world champion, Carolina Butrich, female world champion, Demita Vega, second place at the 2011 Pan-American Games, Jose Ordonez, two times FE National Champion and many other strong tactical sailors.

As an international venue, Cancun offers a wide range of facilities: excellent hotels, great weather, good wind conditions, classy restaurants, etc. The organization is preparing many additional activities during the event, to let the competitors mingle with their audience as well.
