Fred Morin: crystal clear water lover

Frederic Morin has won the New Caledonian Slalom Championships, held in the crystal clear waters Anse Vata Bay, in the South Pacific. The New Caledonian group of islands only has a population of about 250.000 people.

Starboard dominated the competition with six windsurfers ranking in the top 10. Jean-Louis Colmas, a man who’s been very influential to the Starboard brand, both as a shaper and constructor, occupied the third place on the podium.

"Fifty riders, two days of competition, four heats, slalom standard and a big slalom. The race was really good and the wind perfect. The fight between the four first riders was more than intense and the level was incredibly high for this spot", reported Frederic Morin.

"I am super happy to win three heats and finish second in the last one. I simply made the perfect race with three wins and one second place, where Jean-Louis was the surprise of the weekend with an excellent third place", he added.

The final results of the New Caledonian Slalom Championships were the following:

1. Fred Morin (Neilpryde / Starboard)
2. Charles Perret (North Fanatic)
3. JL Colmas (Mauisails / Starboard )
4. David Perpere (North / RRD)
5. Alex Rouys (Gaastra / Starboard)
