Giorgia Speciale has become the first windsurfer ever to win medals in the five Techno 293 World Championships she competed in.

The Italian sailor secured her fifth medal - a gold medal - in the 2016 Techno 293 World Championships, held in Torbole sul Garda, in Trentino, Italy.

Speciale now has three gold medals, and two silver medals in the Under 15 and Under 17 divisions. The windsurfer sails for SEF Stamura, and lives in Ancona.

In the last day of competition, the sunny skies and the favorable wind allowed for spectacular and nerve-wracking races. In the Youth Boys division, Tom Garandeau always finished in the top spots and celebrated gold.

Giorgia Speciale was unbeatable in the Youth Girls division. Well, almost. She nearly won all races and left Enrica Schirru and Aikaterini Divari in the remaining podium positions.

In the highly competitive Junior Boys category, the winner was only decided in the final race. Mathis Ghio stole the ultimate bullets and finished first.

Mak Cheuk Wing traveled all the way from Hong Kong to clinch the Junior Girls world title, despite the last-minute efforts from Mathilde Garandeau, and Linoy Geva.
