Jose Estredo: focused

Jose "Gollito" Estredo has taken out the Desafio Al Viento 2013, a windsurfing race competition held in the region of Falcon, in Venezuela.

The event was run at El Pico, a flat water heaven perfectly designed for a long distance race.

More than 120 racers showed up from across the country and familiar names such as Ricardo Campello, Gollito Estredo, Cheo Diaz Diony Guadagnino, Deyvis Paternina, Alex Carache and many others came to the challenge.

The plan was to start with the Open Windsurfing race - around 20 kilometer - followed by the juniors, kiteboarders and then again another race for all three disciplines.

"I was impressed at how many young and talented kids are sailing in Venezuela. The event was incredibly well run and, with plans to grow annually, the Desafio Al Viento is set to be the Defi, a la South American style", explains Wilhelm Schurmann, who finished fourth.

In the Pro division, Jose "Gollito" Estredo finished ahead of exis Carache, Diony Guadagnino, Wilhelm Schurmann and Ricardo Campello.
