Défi Wind 2011: the heli was not competing

Patrick Diethelm has conquered the 2011 Défi Wind, at Gruissan, France. Initially, the windsurfer was not registered in the biggest windsurf event in the world, as he was competing at the PWA Costa Brava, in Spain.

At the very last minute, the North Sails teamrider finally came to Gruissan. That was a splendid move because he did took the the honours.

The race was thrilling and 1111 windsurfers went for full flory in full speed and changing weather. Bieuzy Mauffret, also a North Sails national rider, got the second place followed by Laurent Gaüzère.

In the Women's division, Karin Jaggi seems unbeatable and was followed by Marion Dusart and Sarah Hébert.

In 2010, the Défi Wind challenge was conquered by Pierre Mortefon. The biggest windsurf race of the world gets the best out of the Tramontane winds to deliver an impressive sport show.
