French windsurfer Charline Picon, and Russian kiteboarder Elena Kalinina have been nominated for the 2015 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards.

Charline Picon is one of the fastest RS:X windsurfers in the world right now. The French bullet won the ISAF Sailing World Championships 2014, Trofeo SAR Princess Sofia 2014, and Aquece Rio International Sailing Regatta 2015.

She earned herself a ticket to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games by storming the ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander. Charline Picon will represent France in the Olympics for the second time.

Elena Kalinina has been winning events since she finished second at the 2014 Formula Kite World Championship in August, in Turkey. Despite her young age, the Russian kiteboarder has been unstoppable.

Kalinina won the 2014 Asian Championships, the 2014 European Championships, the 2015 Trofeo SAR Princess Sofia, the 2015 Formula Kite European Championship and her first World Championship.

The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) shortlisted six male and five female sailors. All national governing bodies for sailing will now vote for their favorite athletes. The winners in both categories will be announced on the 10th November 2015 in Sanya, China.
