Portland Harbour: traffic jam windsurfing

One of the most anticipated events of the calendar, which sees a welcome return to slalom competition in Portland Harbour.

Now with its high profile status as the 2012 Olympic venue for the sailing classes, the amount of development that has gone on in Osprey Quay is something to behold.

The facilities in the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) are second to none, and make the perfect site for an event that is not to be missed.

The event is hosted by Tushingham and The Official Test Centre (OTC), who are just waiting for final planning consent before opening their new specialist windsurfing centre in the WPNSA.

In addition to a full compliment of racing in the three fleets, there will be an array of demo kit to try and an event party in Spinnakers Bar of the Academy on the Saturday evening, introducing live rock band Korsak. Entry is free for all event entrants, or £5.00 on the door to all others.

Head to Weymouth and once through the town, keep following signs for Portland. Go across the causeway on the Hamm Road to Portland, and at the first roundabout turn left into Osprey Quay. The WPNSA is the first building on the left, and there is plenty of car parking and camping available within the grounds of the Academy.
