RNLI Serious Fun DVD

The RNLI is launching a new campaign in the Spring called Serious Fun. The campaign aims to engage with all watersports participants to encourage them to have maximum fun on the water – but to take their fun seriously. At the heart of the campaign is a new DVD entitled ‘Serious Fun!’ which is available FREE to those who order a copy at the Show.

The DVD is packed full of practical tips and advice, it features 11 short films – each is dedicated to a different watersport and aimed at all levels of skill and experience – one of the films has been created specifically for dinghy sailors and is about small boat sailing. This film includes action footage and is full of practical tips and advice from experts including RYA National Dinghy Coach John Thorn.

Serious Fun includes something for all watersports enthusiasts. In addition to dinghy sailing there are films on yachting, windsurfing, kitesurfing, canoe and kayaking, diving, large and small powerboating, sea angling, waterskiing and wakeboarding and personal watercraft/jet skiing; along with a top tips, lifejacket clinic films and a film about the RNLI and how to support the charity that saves lives at sea.

To find out more about Serious Fun and to order your FREE copy, visit the RNLI’s stand (F32), where a D-class inshore lifeboat will be on display along with the chance to watch highlights from the Serious Fun DVD, to find out more about the charity that saves lives at sea and the chance to become a member of the RNLI.

Commenting on the RNLI’s presence at the Dinghy Show Richard Devereux, RNLI Leisure Marine Marketing Manager, says: ‘We hope to welcome all dinghy show visitors to the RNLI stand and urge them all to sign up for a free copy of our new Serious Fun DVD – it’s a great way connect with your chosen watersport without getting wet!

We hope it may serve as a reminder to watersports enthusiasts who sail on the coast that they might one day need the RNLI, so as a charity we need their support too.’

The RNLI’s new Serious Fun film will also be shown throughout the day with an introduction from dinghy sailing legend and Olympic Gold medallist, Ben Ainslie. Plus the RNLI is taking part in the shows ‘Hungry Octopus Hunt’ a treasure hunt for children.
