Malta-Sicily Windsurf Race: an adventure without GPS support

The first ever Malta-Sicily Windsurf Race is celebrating 21 years.

In 1989, ten competitors from ten different countries sailed in the longest single-stage windsurf race in the world of those times.

Each windsurfer had his private support boat. The challenge was conquered by Bruce Kendall, the New Zealand windsurfing legend and Olympic Medalist.

He told the Times of Malta how he felt during this exhausting adventure.
