FW World Championships 2008

Morocco’s Boujmaa Guilloul (Starboard, Severne) has taken the reigns of windsurfing’s new era of combination moves, with the creation of another brand new move, The Black Shot.

Channel Cross 2008

British Champion windsurfer Guy Cribb and the world’s fastest windsurfer and current World Champion Antoine Albeau of France, are about to attempt to windsurf across the English Channel from Cherbourg to Poole; over 70 nautical miles (more than 130 kms) of rough seas, some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world and howling winds, to raise money for the Ellen MacArthur Trust and their French counterpart A Chacun Son Cap.

Bjorn Dunkerbeck

One of windsurfing’s most enduring partnerships has come to an end with the announcement that Bjorn Dunkerbeck has split from his long-time friend and shaper, Peter Thommen.

St Francis Yacht Club San Francisco

The St Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco have lodged their bid for the 2010 RS:X Youth World Championship which they would like to run as a combined event with the Bic Techno World Championship making a festival of windsurfing.

Tiree Wave Classic

The world’s best windsurfers will compete against each other at one of the most challenging of UK sporting events, the Tiree Wave Classic 2008. Running from 11 to 18 October, the competition is set to attract over 700 visitors to the island, with a dedicated half hour television program, which makes it the island’s biggest economic driver of the year.
