The 21st edition of the Sintra Portugal Pro kicks off September 13th, in Praia Grande. The Portuguese beach break is the first of three battles planned for the country.

The Sintra Portugal Pro is the longest running bodyboarding event on the World Tour, and it is often a decisive venue when it comes to the world title race. In 2016, history repeats.

Only 3.000 points separate the top four riders on the APB Tour rankings, which means that everything can change after the historic contest. The Sintra Portugal Pro 2016 will also feature Women's, Drop-Knee, and Junior categories.

And then, a few weeks later, the Tour returns to Viana do Castelo - an iconic spot located in the north of the country - for the second of three events scheduled for Portugal.

The European leg will showcase many continental hopes, but the Portuguese contingent led by António Cardoso Hugo Pinheiro, Manuel Centeno, Rita Pires, and Catarina Sousa will be hard to beat on home turf.

This year, bodyboarding's triple crown concludes in the challenging canyon break of Nazaré, where all bodyboarders will be invited to ride the giants. And, who knows, Praia do Norte might crown new world champions.
