Ali Khushruwan has taken out the bodyboard division of the Quiksilver Cherating International Surfing Competition 2016, held in Cherating Beach, Malaysia.

The Maldives Bodyboarding Team (MBBT) smashed their opponents in the third edition of the event. The contest attracted up to 111 competitors from several Asian countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Maldives, Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines.

"Kuda Ayya," Aswan Mohamed, and Ali Javed claimed the top three spots in the bodyboarding division and proved that the Maldives have some of the best riders in the Asian continent.

All MBBT athletes will also travel to Kuantan, in Malaysia, to participate in the Bodyboard Attack 2016, and international bodyboarding competition scheduled for December 17-18.

Internationally certified Maldivian judge Ahmed Rifaee will be judging in this competition. This is the first time a Maldivian is included on the judging panel of an event held in a foreign country.
