Day four of the 2009 RAW National Titles and Rebel Sport Pro was once again held today at Duranbah Beach on the Gold Coast.

The day was filled with action both on and off the water, which included 2 times world champion Damien King (Port Macquarie) surfing and a 1.5 metre brown snake popping in for a visit to the 2009 national titles.

Conditions stayed similar to yesterday, with waves in the one metre range and despite the diminishing conditions through out the day the amazing weather keep punters happy.

King, the seasoned competitor did just enough to progress through to the forth round notching up a 12.47 combined wave total to take second place in his heat.

Winning the heat was Max Arent (Northern Sydney Beaches, NSW) who put together a stellar performance against the former world champion putting together a 2 wave combination of 16.14. The pair took down Ewan Donachie (Northern Beaches) and Jordan Putland (QLD).

"I worked myself up before that heat, I got two early waves and that gave me the lead I needed" said Max

"I am really enjoying the tour this year and it is great that all of the top guys are doing it and ripping, which is making it really competitive".

Damien who is a passionate supporter of the development of bodyboarding worldwide, always enjoys the national titles and is thrilled to have the event running successfully at Duranbah, after four years at his home break, Breakwall (Port Macquarie, NSW).

"It is always good to be at D-Bah, the waters warm and this event has a good atmosphere" said King.

The action is becoming red hot at the week long bodyboarding festival, with the finals looming it is becoming anyones guess who will become the 2009 Aussie champion, so stay tuned as it transpires.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved surfing's qualification system for the Tokyo 2020.
