La Ventana: plenty of blades cutting the local waters

Maxime Nocher stormed the inaugural stage of the Kite Foil Gold Cup 2014, held at La Ventana, Mexico.

The new kiteboarding circuit attracted a fleet of 30 kite foil riders, divided into two divisions - Gold and Silver.

The main category had 11 races. The French bullet Maxime Nocher won them all leaving the American master Johnny Heineken in the runner-up position.

The conditions shifted constantly between light and gale force winds, but that didn't keep foil addicts from being ultra competitive.

The Kite Foil Gold Cup 2014 will now travel to Silvaplana/St. Moritz (Switzerland), Townsville (Australia) and Gruissan (France).
