Oliver Bridge: sweet revenge | Photo: ISAF/Jesus Renedo

Oliver Bridge claimed the Formula Kite title at the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Cup, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

None of his rivals have been able to catch Bridge. He was fast and strategic enough to win the gold medal in the final and decisive race of the event.

"That was pretty intense. I managed to remain unbeaten in all of my heats and then I won the final, so I'm really happy. I've had good results all year," explained Oliver Bridge.

"It's been pretty amazing in Abu Dhabi. We've had great conditions and great racing. Some of the days have been intense with short and fast races. It's been exciting."

Maxime Nocher tried to chase Bridge, but the 2014 world champion had to settle for the silver medal, after the intense four-to-five minute race. German bullet Florian Gruber took the bronze medal.
