Kiteracing Oceanic Championships: action scheduled for Leighton Beach

The inaugural Kiteracing Oceanic Championships will be held between 10th-15th December 2013, at Leighton Beach, in Fremantle, Western Australia.

There will be Course Racing and Air Jumps on the water, and the Championships will also include "Lighthouse to Leighton", Australia's longest kiteboarding race.

Kiteboarders will tackle 19 kilometers of Indian Ocean from Rottnest Island to Leighton Beach, for the fourth year.

The Kiteracing Oceanic Championships will attract a strong field of international competitors, and consists of a series of qualifying races around a marked course.

Results from this event will go towards a 12-month rolling world ranking calendar, in the IKA World Course Racing Championship.

Over the six days there will be plenty of action including a beach festival on land for spectators.
