Cook Islands: a kiteboarding heaven

Cook Islands have joined the Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA) Race Centre project.

KTA Race Centres are being set-up throughout Asia in partnership with local kite schools, surf centres and watersports resorts to give sailors the opportunity to learn how to ride race boards, improve skill level and hire race boards.

"It's very exciting for us to announce the next stage in the evolution of the KTA Race Centre Project, as it opens its doors, for the first time outside of Asia, with the founding of the first partnership in the Pacific Islands", the International Kiteboarding Association notes.

The centre in the Cook Islands is a partnership between the Cook Island Kitesurfing Association and Kite SUP. The courses will be run at Muri Beach, in Rarotonga.

Each KTA Race Centre is led by a race trainer, who is able to cover all aspects of race board use, from the basics of set-up and riding through to tacking, gybing and effective downwind riding.

When you reach the "End of the Road," you're all by yourself. Are you sure you're ready to get barreled at Tahiti's infamous Teahupoo?
