Anna Campbell: kitesurfing in Mount Kenya

Anna Campbell is the first person to kitesurf the Lake Michaelson, which stands at 4,312 meters, on Mount Kenya.

British born Anna Campbell conquered Lake Michaelson driven by the plight of Africa's wild elephants. Anna wants to raise awareness and protect elephants from ivory poachers and hand-rearing orphaned baby elephants – the silent victims of ivory poaching.

"The inspiration for the stunt has come from a place of huge frustration; watching elephants disappear, not to natural causes or as part of evolution, bit viscously murdered simply for their tusks", revealed Anna Campbell.

"It was a moment I shall never forget, more exhilarating than I had imagined, but most of all it proved to us that the impossible is possible", she added.

Campbell waited for the right moment and patiently positioned on the kite board. When the breeze came out of nowhere, Anna got high into the air and across the still waters of Lake Michaelson.
