Lord of the Wind Showdown: Frodo will attend the event

In the past, the East Cape of the Baja was known for being a premier saltwater fishing destination. Today, the place is gaining the reputation of world-class kiteboarding spot. Los Barriles, located midway between Cabo San Lucas and La Paz on the Sea of Cortez is the epicenter of this activity.

That's why Los Barriles is getting ready for the "Lord of the Wind Showdown", the ultimate kiteboarding, windsurfing and standup paddleboarding competition, to be held between January 12th and 16th, in Mexico.

The local weather conditions are incredible with temperate climate and consistent northeasterly winter winds averaging over 18 knots. Add white sand beaches and marvelous food to complete the scenario.

With $19,000 cash plus prizes up for grabs, the event will consist of course races, downwind slaloms, a big air contest, free style windsurfing contest, kite clinics, windsurfing clinics, and gear demos.
