A Distant Wave: a 12-page digital surf comic

What happens when you're on the surf trip of your life and, suddenly, your van breaks down leaving you and your friends stranded in no man's land?

The picture could be real, but Spanish art collective Surf & Comics wants to bring that uncomfortable feel to the comic strips.

"A Distant Wave" hopes to become a long, high-quality PDF comic, so scriptwriter Maxi González and illustrator Tayfun Sezer have launched a crowdfunding campaign to drive the project to a successful completion.

Surf & Comics have already released a series of short and free surf-inspired comics, such as "The Wave Conjurer," "Unknown Surfer," and "Zombies Don't Surf."

The new longer surf comic is seeking €2,000. If it is successful and the digital comic goes ahead, supporters will not only be able to enjoy the work, but they will also get a few extra freebies.

As a medium-term goal, González and his team hope to turn these types of comics into a regular quarterly work, with brand new storylines and characters in every issue.
