Greg Townsend will step down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Surfing New Zealand on July 27, 2018.
The longest-running CEO of any national sports organization in New Zealand dedicated 23 years of his life to Surfing NZ.
Townsend brought new competitive opportunities to the surfing community in the form of the NZ Junior Series, Pro Surfing Tour, and the Hyundai Pro Longboard Tour.

Jack Robinson has taken out the 2018 Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang, in Bali, Indonesia.
After four days of waiting, the iconic reef break roared to life, delivering spectacular barrels powered by one of the best swells to Indonesia in years.
The Western Australian surfer beat his opponents after receiving a near-perfect two-wave total from the judging panel. Robinson, 20, earned 19.90 points in the final and raised the coveted trophy.
