Gabriel Medina: backflip life

Gabriel Medina has registered his trademark aerial backflip in the Off-the-Wall atmosphere in Hawaii. Is the Brazilian prodigy the new wizard of surfing, or is he breaking the Law of Gravity by Isaac Newton?

If Gabriel Medina was fighting for a last-minute score in a real surf contest, would he get a 10-point ride for this massive backflip wave move?

The answer lies below. Last week, a laid-back Medina pulled an impressive boardshort backflip maneuver for the photo and video cameras with a no-claim attitude.

Now, Gabriel Medina has raised the level and simply drew a hole in the sky, as his surfboard was blown up in a clean three-foot left-hander - second huge backflip landed.

"Today, I pulled the most crazy aerial backflip of my entire life. I still don't believe I've completed it", said Gabriel Medina.

The Brazilian got the backflip inspiration from Flynn Novak, the Hawaiian trickster who invented the famous "Flynnstone Flip."
