An inflatable SUP is always delicate and sensitive equipment. Rocks, corals, nails, sharp objects, and daily handling can easily cause holes and tears in the tissue.
The world's best inflatable stand-up paddleboards can usually handle heavy beatings, but sometimes it is just too much.
If you find that your SUP is leaking air, don't panic. There are solutions and repair kits for the problem.
Materials
These are the tools you'll need to fix the "flat tire" on your SUP:
- Scissors;
- Patches;
- Brushes;
- Soap;
- Glue;
- Tool Pen;
SUP Repair 101
Now that you're ready to repair your inflatable SUP, please read the following instructions carefully:
1. Clean the Surface of the Leak: If you can't find the hole, apply water to the area and find the bubbles;
2. Cut a Generous-Sized Patch: Get it bigger than the torn area;
3. Glue It: Apply the sealant to both the surface of the SUP and the patch;
4. Press the Patch Against the Board: Keep it pressed for two minutes, and clean the excess glue;
5. Wait 24 Hours: When it's dry, hit the water;
