Keramas: Jordy Smiths seems to like it

The inaugural Oakley Pro Bali 2013 is kicking off at the high-performance waves of Keramas, on Bali's east coast, Indonesia.

Kelly Slater is leading the rankings of the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour, as the world's best surfers prepare for a tube riding fest, in the well-known spot of Keramas, located in the surfing sanctuary of Bali.

Besides barrels, the Dream Tour surfers will have rippable open faces and air sections that the peak has to offer. Canggu has also been chosen to work as back-up location.

"It's going to be a thrill and really fun to take on this new role. I'm still at 90 percent of WCT events and still compete with these surfers and with the judges, so I think we will all work really well together. All we need is a little swell and these surfers will blow our minds", says contest director Tom Whitaker.

Bruce Irons is the wildcard of the Oakley Pro Bali 2013. He returns to the island where he secured his first ASP World Championship Tour victory.

In 2008, Bruce defeated Freddy Patacchia to claim the Rip Curl Pro Search 2008 held in Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia. The Oakley Pro Bali 2013 runs from June 18th-29th.
