GTi Surfboard Concept: top gear

The Peugeot Design Lab has created a unique concept surfboard inspired by the pleasure of driving the latest sports and high performance vehicles of the brand, especially the 208 GTi and the Onyx.

The "GTi Surfboard Concept" combines the original balsa wood of the early planks (nose) with the carbon fiber (tail), an essential element of the Onyx concept car.

The sculpted surfboard fins by Peugeot are added to the rear edge of the board, in order to improve the responsiveness and agility of the wave riding experience.

With an overall clean design, the "GTi Surfboard Concept" will be displayed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013.

Will this surfing artwork ever be tested in real waves? Pierre Gimbergues, Céline Venet and Julia Kunkel are the "shapers" behind this futuristic surfboard.
