The Porto Surf Film Festival has invited short surf film directors to submit their works in the new Short Rides 2014 competition.

The international surf film festival held in the iconic city of Porto, in Portugal, has decided to open a new competitive short surf movie section with surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, bodyboarding and all wave sports in the storyline.

The organization will accept short films submissions with a total running time under 30 minutes, coming from any country in the world.

"All filmmakers interested in submitting their films can do it between September 1st, 2013, and April 15th, 2014. Each director may submit up to three films," explains Carlos Rui Ribeiro, organizer of Porto Surf Film Festival.

"We are looking for films that embed ocean values, the spirit of surfing, and the passion for waves. We want that those who have never experienced may feel the desire to wear a wetsuit for the first time".

The Porto Surf Film Festival team decides and communicates the official selection of short films for 2014. The winner of the Short Rides will be announced by the jury of the short film competition, during the upcoming Porto Surf Film Festival, to be held in spring/summer 2014.
