Trompe L'Oeil Technical Wetsuit: a neoprene for surfers designed by Thom Browne | Photo: Wayne Lawrence

American fashion designer Thom Browne developed a wetsuit line inspired by the traditional menswear suit.

We had already seen a wetsuit for business meetings. It was launched in 2015 by Quiksilver Japan. But now, Thom Browne changes the paradigm with a wetsuit that looks like an executive suit.

The neoprene model, available in medium and large sizes, could be yours for $3,900. Do you find it expensive? Well, blame it on "haute couture."

The wetsuit was named "Trompe L'Oeil" - in English, "Optical Illusion" - and showcases all the elements of a classic business suit.

The trousers, jacket, top collar, lapels, and tie are merged into a single, streamlined garment.

The new surfing attire features a back zipper and is part of Browne's 2017 Spring/Summer collection. The limited edition units were handmade by wetsuit manufacturer Shane Jones.

Is "Trompe L'Oeil" too avant-garde for your personal taste? Discover the best wetsuits in the world right now, and learn how to make them last longer.
