Jake Metcalfe and five other riders have taken out the Western Australian bodyboarding titles, at Trigg Beach, near Perth.

The third and final event of the 2016 SunSmart WA Bodyboard Titles were run in two-to-four winter waves, and 21 athletes have earned a ticket for the Australian Bodyboard Titles, to be held Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, between August 11th-15th.

Metcalfe, from City Beach, won the final by defeating Brad Harrington, current Australian Open Men's champion Noah Symmans, and Jesse King.

"I've been competing in these events for as long as I remember, and I stoked to come away with the win. I'm really looking forward to getting back to the Nationals Titles and to fly the flag for WA," expressed Jake Metcalfe.

In the always exciting Under 18 Junior division, Brad Harrington was crowned the State champion, but it was Lachlan Hearne who won the last event at Trigg Beach.

"I take great confidence from this win. It was super close out there, and I want to do a shout out to all the Gero boys who have helped me get here today," added Hearne.
