Kai Lenny: which water sport does he prefer?

The biggest swell in 15 years rolled in from Tahiti to a challenging reef break off the coast of Maui. Guess who was there to try something different?

Yes, Kai Lenny. The young iconic Hawaiian waterman has challenged big waves in extreme conditions and in four different water sports.

Lenny decided to challenge 15-foot mountains of water with four types of boards under his feet. Kai rode waves in windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing and stand up paddleboarding.

The entire stunt was able to successfully enjoy a big wave session, from 6:30am to 12:30pm, in these wave and wind sports. That's four-in-one single day.

"It was such a gift to have the chance to use all of my gear at the same spot and I could have the chance to surf some of the biggest sets of my life during one summer session" said the Oxbow team rider.

The break in Maui is a reasonably exposed reef break that is only rideable once in a while. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. Offshore winds are from the north to northeast.

Groundswells and winds wells are equally likely while the best swell direction is from the south. The movie of his challenge will be available in the next days.
