Pierre-Louis Costes has taken out the Nazaré Pro 2016, in Praia do Norte, Portugal.

The French bodyboarder defeated Dave Hubbard in the grand final held in a stormy eight-foot surf. Costes used all his aerial knowledge to smash his opponent.

"For me, Nazaré is the definition of high-performance bodyboarding. I believe that Praia do Norte is the best beach break in the world, and to win an event like this just feels amazing," expressed Pierre-Louis.

The 2016 APB World Tour race is on fire, and bodyboarding's ultimate trophy will be discussed in the waves of El Fronton, in the Canary Islands. Iain Campbell is still in the driving seat, but Costes, Jeff Hubbard, Amaury Lavernhe, and Alex Uranga can still clinch the world title.

"I want to go to Fronton, which is one of my favorite waves in the world to chase the title, not trying to do anything else. All I want to do is win the event and beat the best bodyboarders in the world. It's my job," added Costes.

In the podium final, Campbell defeated Hubbard and secured the third place, which meant extra 800 points that could play in his favor in the last event of the season.
