Murray Smith: the 250 kitesurfing guy

Murray Smith will try to kitesurf from Newquay (Cornwall, west Wales) to New Quay (Ceredigion, mid-west Wales), in the United Kingdom.

Not, it is not a mistake in typing, it's true and a long way. Smith wants to break a world record by sailing 250 miles in 24 hours.

The 25-year-old kitesurfer from Dartmouth will even "touch" Arklow (east Ireland) before reaching the final destination. Fatigue, hypothermia, night time, vessels and unfavorable winds are the biggest challenges.

Murray Smith will be updating his GPS coordinates live and online in his website. The adventurer will be havinga rigid inflatable boat support.

The record attempt might get underway between 12th and 18th November. In 2009, Murray Smith kitesurfed over 95 miles between the Caribbean islands of Antigua and St Barts.
