After the famous Quiksilver New York post-heat interview, Martinez was suspended from the ASP World Tour. H knew it was going to happen, but he simply had to say what he had in his mind for quite a while.
"First of all, I'd like to say - and the ASP are going to fine me - 'cuz I don't want to be a part of this dumb f-----g wannabe tennis tour. All these pro surfers want to be tennis players".

Direct, honest, and brute. Bobby Martinez was against a newly adopted world ranking system in which the Top 34 surfers could be outranked by athletes who had never surfed against them. Of course, he was out of the pro surfing circus.
