Bobby Martinez: listening to his favorite F-quotes

Where in world is Bobby Martinez? The bad boy with a young smile is living the life of his dreams. Wave after wave, the Californian rider of Mexican descent enjoys his daily free surfing habits on the Santa Barbara beaches where he lives. No stress, no points, no heats.

After the famous Quiksilver New York post-heat interview, Martinez was suspended from the ASP World Tour. H knew it was going to happen, but he simply had to say what he had in his mind for quite a while.

"First of all, I'd like to say - and the ASP are going to fine me - 'cuz I don't want to be a part of this dumb f-----g wannabe tennis tour. All these pro surfers want to be tennis players".

"I've been here before. I love this city. I'll tell you right now, if my sponsor wasn't here, I wouldn't be here for this dumb contest. ASP? They f-----g... surfing's going down the drain thanks to these people."

Direct, honest, and brute. Bobby Martinez was against a newly adopted world ranking system in which the Top 34 surfers could be outranked by athletes who had never surfed against them. Of course, he was out of the pro surfing circus.

Sunny Garcia, for example, was one of the high-profile surfers who backed him and supported Martinez's beliefs.

"Bobby said it so the rest of the world could finally hear what a lot of surfers actually think," said the Hawaiian.

When the ASP World Tour miscalculated the 2011 surfing title, Bobby Martinez got back to the acid jokes, this time on the tennis court. It was time to laugh out loud.

In the last months, Bobby never changed his routine. Surfing and boxing keep him fit and ready to defeat anyone out in the water, any time.

Martinez kept his sponsors, and the train is definitely still moving for him. Will he be forgotten? A battle may be lost for BM, but the war is still up and running.

Bobby Martinez Quotes on Pro Surfing and the Surf Industry

"There are people I can't stand. The reason why I don't like [them] is because they'll smile to your face and talk s--t behind your back."

"They want to do a halfway cutoff. How the f--k is somebody who's not even competing against our caliber of surfers ahead of 100 of us on the one-world ratings? They've never been here. They've never f-----g made the right to surf against us, but now we're ranked upon them"

"Come on now. That's bulls--t. That's why I ain't going to these stupid contests no more. This is my last one because FTW, my sponsors is here, and I just tell it like it is. This is my last one, and I don't like tennis. I don't like the tour... Who gives a f--k? You know what I mean?"

"[Sponsors] want you to do dumb s--t you would never do because they're paying you. They say, 'It's a family,' and you should go and support them. But at the end of the day, they will cut you in a heartbeat, quicker than they signed you."

"It's the first time in surfing history [the ASP] ever f----d up on the points,"

"I don't want to be a part of this dumb, f-----g, wannabe tennis tour," he let them know. "F-----g surfing's going down the drain thanks to these people."
